How can 360° product photography boost sales?

Thru imitating reality:
Effective imagery is essential to convert a website viewer into a web shopper.

Plain old jpgs just dont cut it anymore because photorealistism and interactivity are the critical characteristics of modern web based product imagery. At 360Products.ie we enable your online store to offer an experience of your merchandise similar to that of actually having the product in the palm of their hand; the potential customer needs to be able to acquire a realistic and detailed image of the product from multiple angles, and be able to zoom in on any detail. So the more information you can provide the viewer, the greater confidence they will have in your merchandise and the more likely they are to complete the buying process.

Thru the customers investment of their time:
It has been proven that the longer a customer stays on your website the more likely they are to complete a purchase with you. Rich media such as 360 degree photos help engage the customer, keeping them on the site longer and giving you the best chance possible to make a sale. Research has shown that once a customer has used 3D rotating product photography they are more likely to complete their online sale as they have invested more time and gained confidence that it is the right purchase for them.
In fact, in a recent survey by one of the World’s leading software companies, 91% of online shoppers asked said that the ability to spin products 360 degrees was deemed ‘most useful’ when making their purchasing decisions.
Needless to say, a huge competitive advantage will flow to the retailers that embrace this technology ahead of their competition.

How much will it cost?

We operate a volume based price list that starts from just 70e per item. Figures quoted include photography, colour adjustment and enhancement, animation and output.
And now each 360° comes with a high res image of the product at no extra cost.

How big are the 360° files?

The bigger the window size and the more shots per rotation, the bigger the file size.
Because the 360° viewer streams data from your server, as opposed to preloading the whole image, means that waiting times are kept to a minimum.

Are the 360° images good enough to print?

Yes, we can provide a high resolution still from the 360 for you to use as you wish, at no extra cost.
This avoids you having to commission another photographer to shoot your merchandise, and ensures continuity of look across your product range.

Do you retouch the images of my products?

We frequently have to provide minor retouching work, maybe to remove scratches, maybe to hide tags or labels. The closer to perfect a product is prior to shooting, the less likely it is that we will have to retouch it, therefore avoiding any time intensive photoshop work (due to the fact that there can be up to 32 images per rotation), and ultimately additional costs to you.

Can you change the colour of my products?

Yes we can. Provide us with a new colour value/ sample and we can adjust the images to suit. There is a minor fee for this work similar to that of retouching.

What is a clipping path?

A clipping path isolates a photographed object from its background. Using a clipping path is useful when a packshot is to be placed on a different colour, or on top of another image. Effectively a clipping path allows anything within the path to be seen; anything outside of it is excluded. For any more information on clipping paths call us on 01 685 3854.

What sort of things can you turn into 360s?

Pretty much anything! We can produce 360s for nearly any product up to 1.5m wide by 1.5m deep by 2m tall. The maximum weight is approximately 150kgs.

So obviously our services are ideal for fashion, homewares, toys, electronics, tools, ornaments etc etc…

What if my products look slightly different on my screen?

While our cameras, computers and monitors are all calibrated to ensure colour accuracy; most likely your monitor is not.
We recommend the inclusion of a small disclaimer somewhere on your site, indicating that colour accuracy is dependent on viewing items on a calibrated and profiled display monitor.
Contact your legal advisor for the best terminology for your site.

Will the 360s display on my site, or on my web browser?

We use Flash technology which is supported by all web browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Chrome etc
It is only iphones that cannot display flash content. But you will have to get on to Apple’s Steve Jobs about that…

Is my stock insured while its in studio being photographed?

While our studio is highly secure and our staff extremely conscientious and careful with customer merchandise, we do not extend our cover to include many thousands of euro of our customer’s stock.
We recommend you contact your insurance broker/ agent to confirm you have sufficient cover.

My merchandise would display best with a stylist and model, can you arrange this?

Yes indeed, because our service is located within a commercial photography studio, we have a wide choice of professional photographers/ models/ stylists and makeup artists to choose from, we can even arrange transportation of your merchandise to and from the studio.

Where is the studio?

We are located 10 mins drive from the M50 and only five minutes from the city centre just off Harolds Cross Road. There is free and easy parking outside the studio, and a large goods lift to get your stock into the studio with ease.

How is this relevant to clothing and apparel sales?

There are a couple of crucial advantages to shooting clothes on people as opposed to static shots. Primarily, clothes will hang more realistically on a human frame than on a mannequin, so the customer will get to see how an item fits in reality, and as no pining is possible when shooting a 360, this means that the customer will a more accurate impression of the garment and this of course reduces your rate of return.
